Trivia
During the filming of "Asylum", Jared and Jensen had actor Tom Welling
hiding in the back seat of their car. Tom films "Smallville" near the
"Supernatural" location, and Jensen Ackles was a former regular on "Smallville".
The Roosevelt Asylum is a real asylum that is supposed to be haunted and
abandoned, and quarantined due to violent spirit activity.
The coordinates the brothers' father texts to them is 42, -89 (for the asylum in Rockford, Illinois)
Dean uses the alias "Nigel Tufnel" which is the lead singer for the fictional band Spinal Tap, played by Christopher Guest.
Webmasters' Thoughts
Hoppy says, "I really like this episode a lot. The haunted aslyum is incredibly creepy, and so are the many spirits that inhabit it. I like the idea of having the spirits who don't want to harm anyone as well as those that do in the same environment. I also love this episode for the continued exploration of the brotherly dynamic, and the great scenes in which Sam turns on Dean under the influence of the evil spirits. And boy, would I love to hear what Sam had to say to that psychiatrist!"
Jen says, "Nothing yet!"
